Instead of teaching us formulas and processes that we’ll never even think about when we leave school, how about give us lessons about how to have a healthy self image, how to find value and worth in everyone and everything, how to prepare and understand how to deal with mortgages and bills. Teach us that it’s okay to be different, that it’s okay to prefer your own sex than the opposite, or that it’s okay that to be friends with the boy in the playground with the dark skin. Teach us how to follow our dreams instead of drilling the idea into our minds that our grades determine our future. Teach the next generation to love and look after the planet that they live in and the creatures within it so they can fix up the mistakes that we’ve inherited from you. Because while it’s important for us to learn the facts and the figures, I’m pretty certain that if you’d taught us all of the above, the world would be a much lovelier place.  Reblogging for the comment, it’s so accurate! i love learning, and alway have done, but i really dislike school.
